U14 (Youth Development)
WHO: The Youth Development program is intended for athletes born in 2011 or 2012, and have graduated from Track Attack or Jackrabbits and wish to ski in a team setting while further exploring the various aspects of cross country skiing.
WHAT: Skiers are learning how to train systematically at this stage, yet the focus remains on developing ski specific skills and basic fitness. While skiing in a social and FUN environment, athletes will develop an aerobic base and technical skills. Two and three day options are offered (September to March) that also include basic strength training. Roller-skiing is introduced and may be used for those preparing to race.

WHEN:
Program starts Saturday, September 7 – March (weather permitting)
- 2 day – Tues 6:30-8pm, Sat 10-12pm
- 3 day – Tues 6:30-8pm, Thurs 6:30-8pm, Sat 10-12pm
- +1 day biathlon eco-aim optional add on – Sat 12:15 to 1:15pm (starts November)
- +optional racing program Ad-On (Coaches support & Wax Fees at Alberta Cup Races, Alberta Youth Championships,
Alberta Winter Games, Westerns and Nationals)
WHERE:
Dryland locations will vary: Gold Bar Park, Gallagher Park, Kinsmen Park & other locations communicated to participants.
On snow location: Gold Bar Park, Goldstick Park, Capilano Park
COST:
$600 – 2 day
$825 – 3 day
$250 – optional racing program Ad-On (Coaches support & Wax Fees at all Provincial & other Race Events)
$320 – optional biathlon add on
REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
Race support at one local AB Cup Event
ADDITIONAL COSTS:
ENSC Membership, NC/NA Membership, roller ski rental (if necessary), additional training camps and races/camp (optional), Monday strength training via zoom(optional).

Skis – classic and skate skis
Boots – classic and skate boots
Poles – classic poles, skate poles, ski striding poles
Roller Skis – rentals available through ENSC
Rock skis are recommended for early and late season training
