JOB POSTING: Edmonton Nordic Manager Position

The successful candidate will be responsible to coordinate day to day operations of the Edmonton Nordic Ski Club (ENSC). This is a home-based position reporting to the board of directors. In this role, you will work directly with program leads, committees, coaches, and other volunteers to coordinate and administer day to day operations of the ski club.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination, administration and support to the program leads/coordinators, head coach, operating and program committees, volunteers and membership on a daily basis or as required throughout the year
  • Provide bi-weekly or monthly communications to the membership of ENSC via a variety of platforms (SMORE e-newsletter format, Facebook, email, Sign-up Genius, Google calendar, etc.)
  • Responsible to prepare, present, and coordinate implementation of approved annual operation plan. This plan includes major milestones, deliverables and activities
  • Coordinate annual reporting for Club membership and funding partners
  • Coordinate club evaluation process
  • Work directly with the board of directors to fulfill annual operating requirements:insurance renewals, funding applications and reporting, and partnership building
  • Preparation of club documents
  • Report to the board of directors on a monthly basis to provide formal updates frommonthly activities
  • Work with the community and membership to recruit volunteers for committee and clublevel positions
  • Hold members and volunteers accountable to complete their activities on time
  • Facilitate ongoing meetings with committees, respective board members or other volunteers as required to meet the objectives of the position.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Resourceful self-started aptitude which includes accepting responsibility for new tasks
  • Ability to work well within a team environment (coaches, volunteers and parents)
  • Good communication skills – both written and oral (email and web-postings)
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs (excel/word)
  • Three to five years of experience related to coordination or administration
  • Experience or interested in cross country skiing and/or biathlon would be an asset

Commitment:

  • Attend monthly board meetings to provide a committee and club update (24 hrs per year)
  • Attend annual AGM and provide an overview of the annual operational plan, key dates and milestones for the year (6 hrs per year)
  • Must be willing to travel within the greater Edmonton area
  • Work on average 20 hrs per week for 48 weeks per year for a total of 960 hrs
