Training This Week: November 9 to 15

Coming UP…

  • SNOW!!! And we will be skiing on that snow this week, starting with Goldbar on Tuesday πŸ˜€
  • NOTE: It’s OFFICIAL: HINTON Early Snow Ski Camp is being held in Hinton from November 20th. to the 22nd.
  • First Flakes Loppet – Saturday December 5

  • Thursday – Am Group and PM Group
    • AM Group – Adult Day Training Group

Monday November 9:

  • Zoom Strength w/Carl (Additional Cost – not part of regular programming)
  • 6:30 – 7:30 – Can pay per session.

Tuesday November 10:

  • Who: All Programs πŸ˜€
  • Where: Goldbar Park (Meet outside the Pavilion))

  • Time: 6:30 pm to 8:00
  • What: 
    • All Groups
    • Classic Skiing
    • Coach Directed Intensity
    • Warm Up (5/5/5 and to include activation and mobility)
    • Sprints
    • “Getting used to skiing on snow” – and some low Intensity workout?
    • Bring: Check w/Coach, but include a HEADLAMP, a drink belt, and a change of clothes (at least a dry shirt). Wow on’t be using the pavilion to meet and to change!! 😳

Wednesday November 11: Don’t forget…it’s Remembrance Day πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

  • Distance/Recovery Ski/Training Day
  • Ski/Run/Ride 1.5 to 2 hrs at Z1 depending on your Training Plan

Thursday November 12:

  • AM: Adult Day Training Starts
    • Who: Adult Racers/Development Day Group
    • Where: TBD
    • When: 10:00 am to 11:30 am
    • What: TBD
    • Technique: TBD
    • Bring: Yourself!
  • PM: Thursday Drills/Technique 
    • Who: Thursday Drills/Technique Group
    • Where: Goldbar Park
    • When: 6:30 to 8:00
    • What: Mobilization, Coordination, and Technique work
    • Technique: CLASSIC Skis
      • Adults w/Wietske – CL drills and some technique work
      • Youth w/Ulf – CL – drills, thrills, and spills
      • Youth w/Ember – Skiing –
    • Bring: A Headlight and wear appropriate training clothes and ski equipment…and a change for after (It’s COLD out now!!)

Friday November 13:

  • Active Rest Day
  • Complete rest – (NO training) or active/recovery training.
    • I.E.  go for a walk or bike ride but keep it very, very light.

Saturday November 14:

  • Who: All Groups
  • Where: Goldbar Park
  • Time: 10:00 am to 12 Noon
  • What: 
    • Skiing
      • Technique: Coach Directed
    • Coach Directed Intensity
    • Warm Up (5/5/5 and to include activation and mobility)
    • Sprints
    • Intensity workout (fun part!! πŸ˜€)
  • Bring: Check w/Coach, but a drink belt, skis etc., and a change of clothes (at least a dry shirt). It’s cooler out now…Winter is (seems to be) here 😊)

Sunday November 15:

  • 1 to 2 hrs Long Slow Distance – LSD  (Refer to your Training Plans)
  • Add 4-6 sprints of 10-15 seconds after 30-40min. Spread these out over the course of the workout.
