First, a huge congratulations to Nathan, Maycee, Willem, Ben, Peter, Wyatt, and Salem on stellar performances at the Alberta Youth Championships!

The trails at Bragg Creek are not for the feint of heart and tricky grip wax conditions made for challenges on Saturday but the gang had good energy and were skiing really well. Some of the highlights…Congratulations to Ben and Salem for earning the Spirit Award on respective days!! Maycee passed all five in her group to come across the line first in her heat on Sunday! Willem skied heroically both days and is just getting faster and faster with each race he enters. Wyatt and Salem finished 7th and 8th in the U14 Boys classic race while Peter won the bronze. Finally, Nathan captured gold in the classic race and a silver in the skate. Well done everyone. And that was just the skiing! The AYC is a really fun event and I know everyone will want to go again (those who aren’t too old that is) and strongly encourage anyone and everyone to go next year!
