Help support Alison, an Edmonton Nordic skier, reach her training and competitive goals this season. For those who don’t know, Alison has represented Canada at two World Junior Championships and two World Cup races (as a junior skier). Alison, in her last year as a junior (this season), is Canada’s strongest hope to podium at the pinnacle of skiing for those under 20 years of age on the world stage.
Hello Everyone
My name is Alison Mackie and I am a proud Edmonton Nordic member and an athlete at the Alberta World Cup Academy, which is a national training centre based in Canmore, Alberta. I moved to Canmore after graduating from high school in 2023 to pursue cross-country skiing at the highest level in Canada, and I hope to represent Canada at the FIS World Ski Championships and the Winter Olympic Games.
Every October, as a new race season approaches us, the Alberta World Cup Academy organizes a fundraiser called “Taste of Fall” to support my teammates and I in our athletic endeavours. All donations directly benefit the athletes by subsidizing coaching and wax support at races, and our annual team fees.
The 2024 Taste of Fall fundraiser includes a dinner, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle, and I would really appreciate your consideration in supporting my team. The dinner takes place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Bill Warren Training Centre at the Canmore Nordic Centre. The online silent auction is already open and includes many great items, including gift cards, hotel vouchers, artwork, and more! The 50/50 raffle will have two winners receiving prizes of up to $5000 each, with all proceeds going back to supporting our race season at competitions such as the 2025 Nordiq Canada Selection Trials and the 2025 Canadian National Championships.
