Feb. 12, 2022 Trails/Grooming

Happy Birkebeiner Weekend to you all.  Here is current trail information:

Goldbar: Nordic trails groomed for skate on the south side of the lake/tree line, Hadhirgaan and the small loop on the north side of the partking lot. – the skate lanes on these trails are soft.  Existing classical tracks glazed and hard/fast.  Northshore and Woodcutters left with yesterday’s grooming.  Some areas getting thin and expect some ice in the lower Goldbar/Lake area.  Teaching grids NOT reset and are icy.

Capilano: groomed for skate (expect soft conditions) and classical (expect classical tracks to be glazed/ice and fast).  Some ice on the trails in the field on the East loop.  Teaching grid re-set.

Goldstick: groomed yesterday for skate and classical (track shallow) – overall in poor to fair condition. Ice in areas.  Overall hard/fast with ice – not recommended.

Southloop: thinning and very icy.  Not recommended until we get enough new snow and conditions change.

Expect continued “spring” skiing conditions with glazed tracks, soft/slushy areas once the sun hits them, icy areas and overall fast/hard conditions.
Note: Expect conditions to change with the time of day as with typical spring skiing trails and for conditions to be variable depending on sun exposure/shade etc.
